Is this still a good camera to buy?

Going to give my A118C to my wife and get a better camera. These are going for about $150 on Amazon now and looking at the videos they look good.

I like that it has GPS, don't care about the screen and I need something to handle Texas Summer heat.

I considered going to the dual setup but they made that front camera too big for my tastes.

I have had two LK-7900 Ace's with a power magic pro kit for about 6 months now and I still love them...no complaints for me. I like the no screen, the gps, the size & mount...it doesn't stand out much, most people won't notice it. There is a small display which you can set what you want to show...I just do speed. The video quality is exceptional...it's got the 30 second event recording option that shows you where the impact comes from in the viewer which I like, and its overall easy to use. The only errors I have had with the camera are when it says "recording failure two" which has happened 3 times. I am not sure what it means but an sd card format has fixed it each time.

On the segmented LCD display, can you set it to off? I have an Escort 9500ix that already display GPS speed for me, just trying to minimize what things are lit up(especially at night).

Unfortunately you can not.
You can however place a piece of painters tape (to avoid residue on removal) to cover up the screen.

yes Calgary Dash is correct you cannot turn it off or disable it. Your options are Speed-Date-Time, Speed-Time (which is mine), Speed-Date, and Time only.
