Just picked up the 9665 v3, first impressions

yeah them pics look good to me, just stick another different camera up beside it and you'll see the difference.

Im thinking about getting this camera but I would like to hardwire it to my interior fuse box.
Do you think this product is a good one for this or do you have a recommendation?

don't use this kit with our camera, if you're just wanting to wire it to the fuse panel to an accessory switched circuit cutting the plug off the supplied power lead would be a better option, if you don't want to cut the supplied lead use the CPUSB01

if you wanted something to use on a permanently powered circuit then I'd suggest something with selectable voltage, timer and thermal protection like the Vico Power Plus

Here is how you can (DIY project) turn your included cigarette power adapter into a hard wire kit.

Is the ferrite bead really all that important? The CPUSB01 doesn't feature it.

The Escort mount arrived today, seems well built.

At first it appears the mount won't work, but the flat surface can be removed and flipped over as both edges of the bolt hole have serrated edges to lock into place when tightened.

The adhesive seems plenty sticky, the Escort clears the wires, and I cut some of the protective film to cover the exposed areas.

I'll use it tonight and hopefully get some footage posted, also try to compare it to my Dexors X7.

Something I forgot to ask.....does the Street Guardian come with a remote microphone? I have a GPS antenna, short 3.5mm extension cord...but no external mic....but have a port for it.
i have that mount and i tried using it a few years ago for the GC also. Do you have much "shaking" the way you have it? I didn't flip it around, i just stuck it on so the cam sits right over the bubble. it gives a bigger gap between the glass and lens, but i figured it would be very stable that way.

Hi again

I went full retard and bought this https://www.amazon.com/gp/B00MH4ZVHO
to power up the V3 camera. It has been cold and I noticed that first thing in the morning the camera would restart 3 times before it would stay on.
I have since returned that electrical component and got my money back. I am using the cigarette adapter and the camera powers on just fine.
My question is, do you think I may have damaged the camera with it restarting 3 times before powering on completely for about 2 weeks ?
So you know, Blackboxmycar stopped selling the CPUSB01 and only sells the product in the link above as far as I know. I wanted the CPUSB01
but they said there wasn't really a difference. However my experience seems otherwise. Maybe they are trying to save money I don't know.
How long is a warranty with this Version 3 camera? They pissed me off today and usually that doesn't happen when I buy my products.
Hopefully others will read this and will not make the same mistake I did. Great camera thou and it was easy to install and config for a first time purchase.
Thanks for bundling all that dashcam stuff.

The budget hard wire kit product you linked above is very poor quality. (Avoid for sure)

CPUSB01 is available on both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca

we ran out of CPUSB01 for export which is why they would have been out, they do normally keep them, that power supply is not suitable for our camera, if it's working ok back on the cig adapter then it probably hasn't done any permanent damage, if you find you have problems though let us know and we'll help you out

if you're just wanting to hardwire to an accessory switched circuit to free up your cig socket then you can cut the cig plug off (the 5v converter is in the lead not the plug) and just hardwire that way
