Dash Cam
Generic in Photos, Mobius, K1S dual cam
I was wondering if there were decent 2 channel Dash Cam with both lenses as remote.

From what I've read so far, BlackVue, BlackSys, and Lucas 9700 seem to be most popular/reliable/feature reach/good build/good quality recording units. But, if you are going to run wires to the rear cam anyway, why not separate the DVR from lenses completely to allow mounting in the glove compartment? Or even more discrete - under the dashboard? With the DVR unit separate from both lenses - there will be fewer constrains: no weight constrain or size, larger LCD. And the whole setup will be so much cleaner and discreet.

Are there any such units?

Dear Dash Cam Talk

I got a New K1S arrived just recently. Introduced to the USA
Its New for 2015 is why not many know about this model

Techmoan Did a Review only a Month Ago, on you tube and his site
there are fewer than 100 units in the USA .
2 Companies currently have this available for about $245.

Its a Central Brain Unit is in Glove Box Hidden with the wires bundled inside,
not infront of Dash where everyone can see it.

Its My 3rd Set Up. is What the Title Asks For 2 Cams?
Mine is in a Merz, and i dont see the Wires, is what i was looking for.

Did it myself in about an hour. Its the 1st 1080 P Dual Cam Front and Back Setup
with a LCD Screen on the Brain with a GPS, and an Event Recorder Button.

Techmoan got it on his website the Links to Ebay or Amazon if your interested in more info.
I just Got Mine a Week Ago from RoadCam Man

Had Trouble with it at 1st using a Cheap Memory Card.

Quality of Video Could Be Better but is acceptable and better than my previous units in dark conditions i can see well

Its Smooth Video, with no Stutterin\The GPS Works in the Glove Box,
No Need to Place outside or near the lower dash or glass.
gets a signal 100% on Reg Viewer.
its very small, about 1 inch sq inch cube,
with a ultra small swivel. No Suctions Cups Here

Front Cam Came in Black but mirror is Gray,
Will Spray Paint My Mini Cam with Gray Paint to Blend in with Mirror Color
another wishlist item. Colors of Cams could be Int Color Of Cars
Black Tan Gray to match the interior and blend with seat colors

just enter K1S at Search on Ebay or Amazon for more info
you will find a few sellers have it currently
made by koonlung, they have a facebook page for more info
or google Techmoan a review with Links to get one

i dont know any else yet do a complete review here on dashcam talk
its not Popular or Well Known Yet,

Having sound come on only when an event is saved is an interesting idea

I like this general feature request idea too, could be applied to any product really.

It's too bad the audio is so poor on this thing. Scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 1 for sound quality.

The idea has merit regardless

The Idea of a Event Recorder Button that is Pressed to Save from overwrite and record the Voice would be a nice feature in the future if they can some day
What About Colors to match the interior.?

am going to spray paint my cams housing to blend in with the Front Mirror
============================================
Options 2 for Rear Cam to Hide it. another option
i am making a special license plate frame, like a back up cam setup
but with Cam 2 inside. this is a later project to work on, not right now

I feel That is Best Locations for Rear View Image, but no sure on it yet

all it takes is the right dash cam video viewer, software solutions

one comes with it is registrations viewer
fine but displays speed info KMH

Was that Registrator Viewer or Dashcam Viewer at a guess as they can do the conversion?

K1S Unit Comes Pre-Loaded with Registrations Viewer
after format card, its there, to view files, and stitch

Does the Job, in KM only however.

DashCam Viewer is a "NO GO "ON THE K1S
at Least My Experience with it.

It's usually because the cameras sometimes write the GPS data out in different formats that some of the software doesn't support.

John who writes Dashcam Viewer may be able to update the software to handle the K1S files if you make some raw video files available for him to try?

It's good news you've found something anyway that works as that will help anyone using the K1S.

It Is What It Is ;)

Maybe is better to find a way to make your Merz mirror black. If you will buy another camera it will be black.
Or maybe you can put some gray tape over the camera lens.

enjoy,
Mtz

Looking at your RV mirror thick / bulky arm mount surrounding cover, - my hands start itching to built in that little cameras into that cover to have a full stealth feeling.

Hi Niko:

Each Cam Install will be Unique to The Vehicle and The User who installed it
CARS ARE DIFFERENT and the People hooking it up are too

some will route the wires all over the place, and do some quick jerry rigging
with a little time I used a Butter Knife / dull / to tuck in wires under frame edges
great little tool to use, an ordinary butter knife i found worked best to tuck in the wires,

i see other Cars with BIG RAIN SENSORS HOUSINGS right up front
that is a great place to put a stealthy cam.
GOOD IDEA TO CONSIDER!

thanks for the suggestion niko

thinking about taking one of his eyes out,
putting cam2 inside his head as an option

i am taking my cams apart,
not worried about the warranty

You raise an interesting point.
Mercedes C320 Front Rain Sensor
might be hollow inside to install something.
then its only drill a small hole.

thanks for the suggestion niko

for the back cam i am going to put it in a Toy Dog
on the Back Rear Deck, a white spotted dalmatians kind,
where the " black spot" is really " cam 2" inside this

people behind will think its just a cute puppy

I wish to have same thick rain sensor base / cover like you have. Many dashcams would be built into it ;)

For rear cam stealth install you might find some ideas from DIY project :

RAIN SENSOR INFO

Many Folks Think the Rain Sensor are
THE TINY DOTS
that go around the edge of windshied

RAIN SENSOR is on top center inside, not outside
under the glass is Very Small Flat Sensor about the size of a postage stamp inside that big housing
=================================================
MY RAINS SENSOR HOUSING MERZ C SERIES
maybe a good place to put CAM 1

I think with some patience and DIY skills it will be no problem to fit camera there.
I had long ago crazy idea to "hide" Panorama S into rain sensor cover from Renault mounted into my VW Passat.
