Memory card overwriting cycles / lifespan. What do you mean "life cycle?" I wasnt aware a solid state piece of tech had a life cycle?.
Every big name manufacturer have lifespan listed on how many time card can be overwritten, depending on the type and quality of chip used. However those figures are not always exactly what you get in real life. I usually taking -20%-30% away from what is proposed by manufacturer. Is there a formula, or rule of thumb for how many cycles occur after a certain amount of continuous filming? I would say I film about 40-50 hrs a week on my work cam. What kind of life am I looking at for a typical quality SD card?
