it looks like there's an app that it works with so may not be as restricted as the Apple camera connection kit that needed a specific file structure and only allowed access to certain folders, wait and see I guess

Android 6 on my Nexus 5 can already do it with a card reader and OTG connection.

seems its still not avail for sale according to the website at this time of writing....

I use this on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air.

it's so much more reliable and a bunch faster than the wifi card readers I've used prior. and it even plays my mini 0805 files that are recorded in 2560x1080 that all my other card readers had trouble with on iOS.

and about those Amazon reviews on it...

my first one didn't work at all. iPhone didn't recognize that there was anything plugged in. and it wouldn't connect to my android phone or my PC. but I got a replacement and it's been working fantastic for the few months that I've had it. so quality control isn't the best but if you got one that works, it works well. the one complaint I do have is that the files are organized a bit random as far as I can tell. so that may be a problem for us dashcam users that have a bunch of files on a card. there isn't an option in the app that lets me organize it by time/date. I'm hoping they'll update the app to include that feature soon.

Does their app allow you to read any and all files & folders via iOS even if videos are not in the DCIM structure?
yes, it doesn't have the same restrictions as the official Apple camera kit. I've popped a few video files in the root folder just to transfer to my camera roll for mobile editing. it works fine.

I never tried the Lexar one, but Good news for the wecodo, and similar devices that use the following app below.

Yesterday's iUSB Pro app update added the missing audio codec. (for NT96650/NT96655 dashcams) I just verified audio can now be heard with direct playback via iUSB Pro iOS App
(no need to transfer the file locally first to get audio)

This is the current recommended reader:
(uses same app) Confirmed working on iOS 11 too

The one I posted about works on iOS 10 iOS 11 not sure about much older EOL iOS models.

I’m not sure what playback app they use in this other one you posted about so no way to know if the audio codec will be supported. Someone needs to buy and try.

I bought some on china market this afternoon with good price. Will report soon.

It says “No App Required” so won’t work if it relies on the native DCIM (with specific naming convention) import feature from Apple. I can only assume they don’t even have an app but not sure. It’s not clear after reading a few reviews what’s going on.

The whole reason the other one confirmed Good is nice is you could browse any folder and file outside the DCIM structure via the 3rd party app.

Even if a dashcam records to DCIM folders Apple import still won’t see the videos from various chipsets/file structures recorded. The 3rd party app is the key around that.
