G1WH
Hello,
So I am using a 12V power supply to power my G1WH however it creates static on my radio. I also beleve it may be causing issues with my radio back light. I am wondering if its ok to use a USB cable to power the camera. If so where on amazon should I buy one?

I don't see why it would pose any problems. I'm currently using one of these ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/B0169K7SQS ) to power 2 SG9665GC's and 2 A118C's - all with 15 foot or longer USB cables.

Are you looking for a cable or USB power adapter? If just a cable that one should be OK as Monoprice is generally considered to be a better brand.

The Monoprice cables are fully shielded and therefore should not be the cause of any static.

I already have some USB ports to power the camera I am just looking for a new way to power it. I have something like this one right now (https://www.blackboxmycar.com/colle...ducts/mini-usb-power-cable?variant=5207367425) however it causes a buzz in the radio and I know when I had the A119S and it was USB there was no buzz in my radio. Plus I would like to free up a 12V port for my FM transmitter.

Rather than that, I'd recommend getting a better brand of ciggie-to-USB adapter and using those monoprice cables. Anker and Scosche are good choices for the PS; very stable and well-made with less than the usual amount of RFI. Also note that the G1W series of cams aren't well shielded and may cause RFI themselves.

Space is your friend- keeping as much distance as possible between radio and dashcam components (including cables and antennas) is often the only solution you need, but if more help is necessary check here: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/radio-interference-from-camera-mounted-in-rear-window.20620 and here: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/fm-interference.11958 and here: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/dashcam-kills-dab-radio-reception.26456 for a more in-depth discussion of RFI and possible solutions :D

Make sure those ports have sufficient amperage to power a dash cam. Most cameras have a stated requirement of 1A, many built in USB ports provide significantly less than that.
