Looking for a 4-channel dashcam setup for driving + multi-day parking in Austria

Not exactly. What I meant was whether the built-in cabin camera could be disabled/replaced by an external RCC360, so the setup could be front + left side + right side + rear.

BlackboxMyCar already confirmed that the built-in cabin camera itself is fixed, so that part is clear now.

What I’m still wondering is whether disabling the built-in cabin camera in firmware would actually free up a channel for another external camera, or if the T340 is always limited to front + built-in cabin + 2 external cameras regardless.

I saw you already added the compatibility/modularity questions to your T340 Q&A thread, especially whether the remote cameras are interchangeable and whether A329S cameras are compatible. Those are basically the exact questions I’m interested in too.

And yeah, having the telephoto built into the main unit instead of the cabin camera would actually have made the T340 much more flexible for setups like mine.

From what I understand from Viofo, the T340 always has a fixed fisheye lens/front camera, and you can add a telephoto and rear camera.

I was hoping to see an A329 body with 4 channels, which I think Viofo will make in the future.

Also, the camera body's design might limit the mount position on the windshield to get the best/optimal view for the front and fisheye options. I'm not sure how it will work with cars that have a big embedded original dashcam.

Yeah, that’s basically what I was hoping for too — an A329-style body with four external/configurable channels would fit my use case much better.

The fixed fisheye camera on the T340 is useful for cabin recording, but for me it takes away some of the flexibility I would want from a 4CH system.

And good point about mounting position as well. Since both the front camera and fisheye are built into the same unit, the ideal position for one might not necessarily be ideal for the other depending on the car.

So for now I’m actually pretty happy I went with the A329S. If Viofo eventually releases a true 4CH A329-style system with configurable external cameras, that would probably be the one I’d upgrade to.

Im sure we will see A429 in future .
In my case I may will try the T340 on the sub if it will not as I hope I'll grade down to A329s for this toy
