Looking for Dual Cam for motorcycles

heat isn't a problem, doing 4k remotely is the problem at the moment, once the hardware catches up it will probably happen
Perhaps another reason the DVR is built into the front cam (which is the 4k one).

However I don't really understand your comment. HDMI has no problem transporting 4k video streams, so clearly 4k can be "done remotely." There are limits - but most sources say 3m for 4k video over HDMI. Should be enough for a motorcycle dashcam, though perhaps not for the rear cam in a car where you want to route behind trim or have a large SUV.

Yeah i saw that, will be interesting to see how it fall out.
Regarding integrating the main unit with the front camera like car models it have me a bit weary in regard to what size it will then be and how it will have a effect on where to mount it.
Cooling dont actually worry me much, cuz if that front camera / main unit are out in the wind it should get sufficient cooling, so then it is merely a mater of getting the heat from the SOC chip and to the casing to be dissipated there.
Also hope it is a good lid on that SD card, the "flap" lids on my osmo action camera but also found on gopro and others, while waterproof i am not going to dunk my action camera in any water unless i have a WP casing.
I only see it as splash proof even if they say it is good for several Meters depth.

I do prefer the screw in type of lid, like the ones on old cameras where you had to use a coin to unscrew it.

Check out this review of the K5:

Innovv did put the SD card (and USB connector) behind a watertight panel secured by screws.

Not quite as convenient for SD card access as the K2, in that you need a tool. But, meaningfully secure against water or dust entry, and some protection against casual theft.

cable type has nothing to do with the problem, you're not transferring a video stream from a remote camera unless you encode the data in that remote camera first, none of the current methods will work for this situation

After all the hassle I went through with the K1, an Innovv camera that costs that much needs to prove it's reliable before I even consider it.

Yeah. some times you just got to lean back and watch the table play out, not least with these little things where there only are a few players.

I'd be very interested in testing the Viofo motorcycle cam.

I currently use a helmet mounted front facing cam. After I install a Viofo duo IR (whenever it gets released, I've got teen drivers) I'll have a spare Garmin 55 and Aukey DR02 dashcam that I've been considering mounting somehow on the back of my motorcycle facing to the rear. Really not sure how I'd do that though.

Here's a clip from a "near miss". I try to anticipate accidents while riding, so you notice I moved far to the right as I passed the box truck and we both approached the intersection, in case the truck made a right turn (which it did). The truck driver turned his blinker on just as I passed his rear. Of course I always assume drivers never use blinkers. Many bicycle riders around the world have been crushed to death, generally from trucks turning right, when a bicycle rider was also along the right of the truck, and the truck turns right at an upcoming intersection. The biker gets trapped under the wheels. If you keep this horrible image in your mind then you are more likely to recognize the situation developing and take action, like fall behind or keep your distance from the side of the truck.

Hello. I've been looking at getting a front/rear motorcycle dash cam for the bike. Anyone have one installed?

Tonnsss of options. I haven't read anything bad about the Viofo MT1.

For me I would probably buy an Innov K3. While I had many problems with the power supply in the first year, Innovv did eventually fix everything. They and their US distributor OCD Tronic earned my future business.

I have tested the MT1, found the cameras to sensitive to vibrations, even when mounted where I have other cameras mounted that works without problems.
Sent the video, prior to publication, to Viofo for comments. They promised a reply from a technical specialist, waited a week for the reply that never came. Sent two more emails to the contact at Viofo with copies both to sales and marketing, never got a reply. Sent new emails after a couple of months, no reply what so ever!
The video can be seen on Youtube

That's unfortunate.

None of it is cinema quality, but I periodically check the output of my K2's and both are working great.

One of them is coming up on 4 years old.

In that time there have been no developments which I find significant enough to motivate an upgrade.

If one of the Innovv K2's dies I will most likely replace it with a K3.
