Hello, I'm fairly new to shopping for dash cams and have found myself a bit overwhelmed by the options, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

The most I would want to spend would be $200, but the cheaper the better without affecting video quality. I don't really care for extra features such as navigation or a screen if it will affect the price point.

The main features I'm looking for are:
  • Quality picture day or night to capture license plates without trouble.
  • Easily detachable from the mount to store while parked
  • Compact enough to not have view obstruction issues
  • Not required, but preferred if it can connect to a smart phone in case I needed to access video on the roadside.

Thank you.
