I've recently installed a capacitor (same as the M1 capacitor) into my M2. At first it was working fine, but now it seems to freeze after 15-30minutes of recording. Upon restarting the M2, I noticed that the green charging indicator was flickering, rather than the usual steady green, in-between the flashing orange mode 1 indicator.
Does this look like a fault on the charging circuit? It's possible but unlikely that I damaged something the last time I opened it to put in the capacitor.
I had the same result when the camera was powered from my 12v-to-USB adaptor, which I believe supplies up to 2A, and also when powered from my USB powerbank which can output 2.4A.
I'm about to swap out the capacitor and put the battery back in, then see if it's still flickering.
