I just came across Mi Alerts, an interesting idea that a company is trying to get off the ground. It is essentially a 4 dash cam system with GPS and G-sensor. The unique feature is the ability to send an alert to your smartphone when an impact to your vehicle occurs.

Many dash cams already have parking surveillance but the notification to your smartphone is new. They claim the monitoring fee will be $4.99 a month. I believe this system will also allow you to track where your vehicle is if stolen.

if you mean the iPhone app, yeah? Probably a good product but completely different functionality to what was being talked about here, never got anywhere http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mi-al ... car-is-hit so not sure if that's an indicator that the idea wasn't good or the marketing of it was lacking
