Miami bridge collapse, trucker dashcam

Better than what they did her last night, just before midnight they started ramming steel in the ground at a construction site 1/2 mile or so from here, i am pretty sure that kept a lot of people from falling asleep before they finally stopped around 3 in the morning.
I have no idea how they gotten permission to do that at that time of day and on a weekday too, okay it are near a main road west out of town, but there are ample ways to reroute traffic in the daytime.

They also do overpass work here with traffic on the motorway going, but of course a motorway in my part of the country are just 2 lanes in each direction and most often with a 20 - 25 feet divider in between.

I dident get it where they repairing the bridge or building it ?

A tunnel are probably out of the question in Florida.

They had installed it 5 days previous, and where just completing a "stress test".

Why would you do a stress test with people underneath?

Unbelievable , Isambard Kingdom Brunel would of been discusted .

Brunel knew how to build stuff, much of which still stand today (y)

If you don't mind the language, AvE has a theory:

Wow, I was wondering if we'd ever see any dashcam footage of this. It's amazing a failure like this can happen with today's engineering standards.

Will have a look when I'm back at a computer, dare say if you google bridge collapse and dashcam you'll probably find it, think it might have been 'dashcams don't lie' that posted it on their page

As a Chartered Civil Engineer specialising in temporary works design I was shocked by what I saw in this video and what I have read since in the civil engineering community.

If you're doing something critical that has the 'potential' to cause a major collapse, you should eliminate the risk of injuring people by closing the road.
