Dash Cam
TWO Thinkware's U10002CH (rear cams used as side cams)
looking at some footage of my new F770 and turns out I have no sound.

My car is too far away right now to do some tests, so checked the manual
which is not clear regarding switching microphone on and off.

As far is know the microphone is always on and you can turn it off manually.
At next startup the microphone is on again. - Is this correct?

And what about if I switch off the mic, let camera enter park mode, and then start the car again?

So turns out the camera does retain the microphone setting, but as I have all sounds off on the camera,
it's impossible to know whether the microphone is on or off at any given moment.

The only way to check is to go into the app's live view where the mic icon is.

Would be handy if the camera gives a bit more flexibility regarding which sounds you want to hear ;
I want all the event sounds off, but by doing so the camera also switches off the button sounds.

Good to know.

One of the things i hate about Thinkware is the lack of refined settings and support channels for improvement.

Basically you get what your given.

Yes, the user interface is poor. No feedback when it would make sense, announcements/feedback when you don't want it and you can't turn it off.

As for the microphone, fortunately it's not illegal here -- and it's so trivial to strip out audio in iMovie on my phone or computer before uploading a video clip that I don't bother doing anything with the mic button.
