Hi all,

when I turn off the USB power the mini 0806S is power off immediately, which results in a damaged video file.
Seems like the capacitor is not able to keep the cam powered and to run the shutdown skript.
Any idea how to fix this?

The cam is 11 months old.

thx

if it turns off with no delay at all it does sound like a capacitor problem, if that's the case you'd need to open it up and replace them

thats what I thouht, but after 11 months this should be covered by warranty, right?

I charged up the capacitor for 24hrs.
It was able to delay the shutdown. So Capacitor is still a live, somehow...

How best to open the dashcam? What kind of capacitor do I need for replacement?

@jokiin How best to open the 0806s? What kind of capacitor do I need for replacement?

you should find a thread here somewhere with disassembly instructions that will give you the detail you need

once you open it up you can see what size they are, I'm not sure what they use but it's nothing special, they'll be one of the standard sizes of supercaps

@jokiin okay, I find in 0806S 2x OMO IX SUPERCAP 2.7V 5.0F

but on ebay I only find 2.7V 3F or 10F
can I also use 10F instead of 5F?

I received 5.0F-2.7V

They are too big, I can not close the housing, but in general the fix seems to work.

@jokiin Any idea where to order 5F-2.7V with right dimensions?
