Mini 0807 - can you access camera menu whilst connected to a PC via USB?

I have connected my Mini 0807 to my laptop via USB cable and the mincam screen just keeps flashing "USB connecting .........".

I can access the files via the PC File Manager and copy or delete files.

But I cannot get the Menu to operate on the Minicam to allow me to change some of its settings.

The same thing happens when I remove the SD card.

Help please - should I be able to access the menu whilst connected to the PC ?

plug the USB cable into your phone charger, you just need power, the computer has data as well so will put the camera into mass storage mode

What are you trying to do exactly?

Trying to change the file naming convention eg to 2017nnnn.*

you could copy your files off and setup a batch script to bulk rename them on your PC

not something you're going to be able to do in the camera though
