Hi. The front camera image is too blurry. It is running the newest firmware 20180124 and the recording is set to 1080p 30fps Super fine. The camera is mounted behind the rear view mirror. Windshield has been cleaned from inside and outside (some scratches are on it) and I cleaned the lens too (plastic protector is off). Could you please check pics below (for comparison the last one is from the previously operated blackvue 650 and the date is december 2017) and tell me what else should I do? My suspicion is the out of focus lens because it is aimed at the windshield (eg scratches are sharp). Order was made from Aliexpress Conkim Official Store. Thanks

Yes the focus have definitely shifted to the short / near side it seem.

It look like it, funny thing it seem to me cameras always shift to near focus when they go out.

During investigation I found the Xiami issue too

All brand and price cameras had this happen, some more than others, it can either be the mount failing or the elements in the lens itself.
you can often take the camera apart and refocus the lens and lock it in place in the new place, there are plenty of guides for this on youtube, most are for action cameras but its pretty much the same.

The spare 0906 lenses i had i have shipped off to a guy in Canada with the same problem, so i am sadly not able to help you more with this problem.

yes,
Take apart camera - remove glue on lens thread - loosen lens / thread - plug camera into TV with HDMI cable - adjust focus - fix lens in place with mild glue - assemble camera again.

As i recall the 0906 use the mini HDMI connector

you can power the 0906 with a USB charger via the micro USB port on the camera so you dont need the mount to go thru for power.

And here is 0906 dismantling
so I have got the theory now but I am not sure about my practice :) I will wait for answer from Megtech/Conkim and then I will see whats next. Thanks again mate

I had mine apart a couple of times during testing, if you just need to refocus the lens you dont have to take the 2 PCB apart.
If you do take the 2 apart be careful to install the ribbon cables correct, it should not break anything if you dont but the camera will probably not power up if its not correct installed.
A few of us testers had a little problems getting those cables in the right way again.
But other than that the 0906 are not that bad to work with, not really any things that can snap and ruin if you are a little careful.

Hi, Peter:
Sorry for late answer. yeah, the camera is out of focus.
We are sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
We will send you a new camera as replacement. For detail, I will write to you from Aliexpress message center. Thank you

Thanks Connie. I hope we will found a solution asap.

I just received a new message from Conkim and they will send me a new camera and a gps unit (+ hard wire kit as satisfaction) next Friday. I shipped the faulty items a week ago via post.

My new camera (with a gps unit) arrived today. Promised hard wire kit is missing...

In the beginning was the faulty camera produced by MegTech (out of focus lens / settings resetting / dead gps unit). And it wasted some time and money to deal with the bugs...

Then I returned back to Conkim with the following costs (and approx a month without any camera because of waiting for a new production set from MegTech):
8,10 (shippment the old camera back to China) + 1,57 (shippment surcharge for the new camera) + 2,45 (shippment surcharge for the forgotted hard wire kit) = 12,12 EUR

Peter,
Today we will send you hard wire kit with 4 fuse band, please don't worry.
Sorry for all the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding and big support.

Hi Connie. The free hard wire kit (plus the fuse kit) just arrived today. The current full price is 12,93 EUR (without shipment).
After three months of dealings around 0906 I hope there will be no more issues. :snaphappy:
Thank you for your kindness and support
