The Mini Q9 arrived at my door for review and I must admit was surprised at what I discovered while using this new Q9. As with all first generation devices (version 1) there is room for improvement. However this unique 160 degree wide angle and 330 degree rotating Lens works as advertised, watch my videos below, more to come. Seeing all the Image Quality control settings you'd ever need was shocking! Imaging seeing a Temperature Shutoff setting you can control to extend life of the DVR, great option!
I was told Firmware is still in development so more surprises pending.

Skyhigh-Global developed something every Dash Cam must have, the ability to power a DVR from the OBD-2 diagnostic port under the dash of all 2005 and newer vehicles. With slight modification this OBD Plug could include a 5 volt regulator and assorted connector ends (USB, BMW...) to power any dashcam. It works perfectly with the Mini Q9 in Parking Mode.

Why do you say that the ODBII connector is for cars 2005 and newer? It became standard in 1996 for all cars sold in the USA.

Hate to say it but, not all cars are made is USA, my videos try to include global consumers, found the most recent year implemented and subtracted one year.
The OBD-II diagnostic connector port was accepted in Europe for gas engines 2001, diesel 2003, for Australia accepted 2005 gasoline, 2006 diesel.

OK. Thanks for the clarification. I was concerned my 2001 USA sold vehicle would not work with the ODBII power adapter which I think is a great solution.

if it has an OBDII connector it would be fine, the OBDII connector is a standard, the protocol is not, but for this type of uses it's just tapping power so if you have an OBDII connector you will be good to go
