I'm looking for a Mini USB Y-Cable Splitter so I can try to power two DashCams at once. My cable is already run through my plastic runners hidden out of site. It wouldn't be very easy to run a second cable with out tearing everything apart so while I'm doing side by side comparrisons of two dashcams it would be nice to just spit my Mini USB I already have behind my mirror.

Searching google I can only find a mini USB cable that Motorolla makes.

It seems it doesn't split the power evenly though.

The part that worries me is it says:
"Note: Not intended for charging 2 phones"

The photo even shows that one side is for an accessory only.

So this might work but not sure. I guess it doesn't hurt to try for $4

Where else can I find a mini USB splitter that will bit a 50/50 split? The Motorolla Y-Cable is funky sounding.

So again this isn't for a permanent solution just when I'm doing dashcam comparison video testing side by side.

My Auto mini USB Power Adapter I have outputs 2A, and most dashcams are happy with 1A

i dont think this will work, if your power adapter tells you 2A....in reality it is only ~1,7A or less depending on quality of adapter and length of cable
only highendadapter for lots of cash deliever their power constantly and as their specification states
splitting that up that would mean~850mA or less....
my g1w for example needs definitly more than 1A...

you would probably need a 2,4A or 2,7A or 3A power adapter, then maybe

That's what I'm thinking but wanted to put it out there to see who chimes in thanks.

Since this is for a temporary project, I guess I'll just run a second Auto Power mini usb adapter as needed.

in general thats a nice idea^^
my solution was to get a 3 x 12v car adapter...with that i power my dash cam, a usb power adapter and othe things at same time
there are also usb power adapter that have 2usb ports, which can both deliver 2A.... reliable ones cost mostly 20$ and more...this is similar to your idea of splitting the cable
