Mobius auto-records while on house USB but standby only on car connector?

Bought a 12v to 5v converter for my truck. The Mobius sees the feed from this adapter and it goes into solid amber standby mode but does not start auto record. If I take the camera inside and plug it into a standard iPhone charging brick it instantly auto-records.

Any idea's?

I've tried 3 different cables and the same results are consistent, car power = no auto record, house power = instant recording.

Help is needed AND appreciated.

It's most likely the converter. Is it one of the cheap ones from CVS/Walmart/Etc?

I'm using a hard wired high end converter that's wired right into my 12v. This thing was $30. not cheap in build quality by the look of it, but still it's not working as promised.

So, is it the power supply or a camera setting?

Ah, I thought it was a regular 12v outlet converter for phones. I do think it's the power supply.

if the voltage is too high the Mobius won't start, it has a circuit to prevent damage from over voltage, check the output of your power supply
