If I am forced to do this due to space limitations, is there a setting or option in the DVR to flip the image?
Mounting the rear waterproof camera upside down?

Yes i believe this will be no problem, there is a rotate function on both cameras in my SG9663DR system, i believe it is also the case in the other conventional dual systems.
