Moving on from my Panorama S

I bought the Panorama S in 2015 and it's still working and solid as can be. However, I'm ready to move to a more modern two camera setup (with wifi video transfer).

My goal is accident evidence and had an incident with my Panorama S where the license plate of a vehicle i needed to identify was not clear enough to read in broad daylight.

My goal is to have a great camera for license plate reading.

I'm leaning toward the Viofo A329T, since it has the telephone lense. The other option is the Vueroid S1 4k Infinate which would save a bit of money.

Anyone with either can comment on how good they are with reading plates?

Plenty of reviews on here regarding the Vueroid and Viofo, both in general overview and dedicated in depth analysis. Please check the dedicated sub-forums for those models.

The A329T is currently the best camera for plate capture, mainly because of its telephoto lens.

If you remove the telephoto lens, then the S1 4K and A329S/T are very close regarding plate capture.

The Vueroid S1 4K has a slightly wider FOV than the Viofo.

You won't make a mistake buying either camera. But if your overall focus is plate capture and you have the money, then I would suggest the Viofo A329T.

The difference between the a329s and s1 4k is the parking mode.
The vueroid s1 4k is more heat-resistant because it doesn't have a supercapacitor in its hardware and has a durashift feature, so when the car cabin is hot, the device doesn't completely shut down, only switching to parking mode.
Meanwhile, the a329s, due to the supercapacitor in the device, shuts down completely when exposed to heat. At a certain temperature, the device will no longer be monitored.
Because in my country, the hot climate is currently reaching 33 degrees outside the car during the day, the dashcam will always turn off. This is really frustrating lol
