Hi all, I know this is ridiculous and there are of course no such products that meet the requirement. I am looking to have a mobile CCTV system installed on a huge truck which the following requirement.

· HD/FHD (720/1080p)

· Multichannel (5-6 channels)

· Weatherproof (Heat and rain)

· Monitoring screen at the driving cabin

I am planning to combine multiple camera into a single system with monitor, if possible, with SSD as the storage.

I am looking at this http://www.truckrearvisionsystems.com.au/ and they have similar products which can meet the requirement.

Any pros here who can kindly give any suggestions or recommendations? That would me great and appreciate your kind advice! Thank you.

there are some 4 channel systems close to what you want, some buses use them, no SSD though

Thanks so much on your quick reply. May I know what are the brands you are suggesting?

I wasn't suggesting any particular brand, I haven't tested them to be able to say which is good or not, the product does exist though

Yes, there are but I am looking for options from you guys.

No that would be hard i recon to find reviews of such systems.

The Ip camera NVR i have here at home might be used as it run off a 12 volt power supply, but my NVR is a pretty cheap one that do not support any large bitrates at least not from all 4 cameras.
I assume my NVR would handle a SSD if you put one in it, but i just use a regular 3.5" harddrive.

I think you would be better off looking at forums for CCTV gear.
There is a fjew of us in here that allso have cctv at home and know a little about it, but its for home use and not a truck.
But i assume you could use home NVR in a truck, and waterproof cameras of some kind ( dome - bullet - PTZ ) on the outside of the truck.

We've got a 4 channel SD quality system installed in a truck and I have seen an HD version although I think sometimes the frame rates are reduced to 15fps. Not cheap though.

For 6+ channels I'd just use a regular HD DVR with an inverter or something, pop an SSD drive in it and then source the cameras separately. You can get wedge cameras which are great for vehicles but I don't think I saw HD versions of them, only domes. You can probably get HD mini domes.

My cheap little NVR allso come in a 8 channel version.

How about this

In 8 channels and MAX 80Mbps, that should be enuff to ensure fairly good recordings on all cameras.
And with a 4 Tb hdd there is room for a lot of footage too, if not i am sure you can get a 2 or more HDD version too, but then we get into the expensive range.

Just be advised if you have to ask, then you cant afford it :) and i dont even know what it cost, but it is no doubt out of my range.

Arron Lee, I have a wee bit of experience with both.
My company sells and installs Dahua commercial grade products, which I believe to be the very best of the Chinese brands. You will see them re-branded and sold under a variety of different names, such as Qsee (Costco), Eyeonet, Ion and many others. The entry level stuff isn't too expensive but the problem would be the constant vibration that they were never designed for. Then there is the lack of decent cameras for a mobile application, with most of them being huge bulky things that have a low IP (intrusion/penetration) rating.
I played around with a few different Chinese Mobile DVR's, that are supposed to be able to handle the rigors of over-the-road use, but my experience was soured by a couple of things. One, that the software sucked. Has anyone here ever heard of a .GH file extension? I sure hadn't and it didn't play nicely with anything, except (barely) Windows Media player, but there was no way to transfer files, edit them or do anything but watch them. Useless was my conclusion. Second, there was the complete lack of support when I had questions or issues that started to arise. There are some true mobile multi channel systems out there but they're out of the price range for most truckers.
I would suggest that if you use a domestic type of DVR, mount it on some sort of cushioning set-up and make sure it gets lots of air flow around it. You should be able to hack some RV back up cameras to connect via BNC. I would also say that analogue will be your only real choice, but with HD-CVI or TVI you can get up to 2.4MP cameras which give as good as most IP network cameras.
Good luck...

yea, I did found a lot of decent 720p analog China brand, my due to the requirement from above, I have to look into IP camera now and I guess I will go for non-mobile type of system. Thank you so much on your information, it really help me a lot.

One option might be the Axis F series. It is a very small, modular, highly configurable, network camera concept that lends itself well to mobile use. There are various tiny camera modules available with some of them being waterproof and weatherproof and they can be deployed as much as 39 feet (12 meters) away from the main unit, which makes them ideal for large vehicles. They only come in one or four channel versions but I believe more than one unit can be used in a larger system.

Thank you so much! That maybe what I am looking for! I really appreciate your suggestion! Thank you!

Came across this today:

http://www.antedcctv.com/index.php/...+Car+HDD+CCTV+Bus+Recorder+with+WIFI+GPS.html

Only setback is you have to use a laptop or phone for live view. But x8 HD cameras at 30fps with such a tiny box, pretty impressive and it's a hard drive enabled one also with removable caddy so reliability and compatibility should be sound compared to SD cards.

The cameras look low profile, but I'm not sure if they are ok for outside use?

A fantastic option, if you are rich! I just looked up what my cost as a dealer would be and it ain't cheap. $900cdn, wholesale, for the recorder alone!

If you are patient, we are going to be introducing an affordable multi channel system that is specifically made for the heavy truck industry, and they are NOT made in China!

There's an HD mobile dvr and 4 waterproof HD cameras that can be had for about £450. It runs at about 2000kbps bitrate per channel which isn't great but the video quality is actually quite good considering. Made in China though but compared to a Brigade setup which is 380tvl and costs £2,800 including fitting then there's not very many alternatives!

Any idea on when your system will be available? As of right now my only option is the antedcctv 8 cam DVR set up. I would prefer not to buy from China but at the end of the month I shall have no choice.
