Hi All;
I have just purchased a new Kenwood DRV 330 dash camera
Very happy with the video quality, both day and night.

I have downloaded the Route Watcher II from Kenwood, a brilliant bit of gear, but very limited.

The problem I have is that I want to be able to edit and copy videos, including audio
But the audio only works with the Kenwood route watcher software (HTML file I think holds this information)

I have tried several various editing programs, but while they all do a very good job at editing the video, I get no sound at all.

Am I missing something?
Is there a trick I need to know or perhaps a program that can keep the sound?

I love the quality of the Kenwood video, I have had a few Dash cameras, and this is by far the best.
But this audio thing annoys me no end.

Please help

Found out that I can actually hear the audio using the windows media player.

But when I use the windows video editor, it loses the sound and I have a silent video

I have also found out that the HTML file is all about the GPS not the sound.

cant load a sample, file too large

Have tried several video editing software applications
Davinci works well, but after the trial period its pay pay pay.
Tried Windows video maker 16 will not recognise the MP4 video from the Kenwood.
Tried the Video editor from windows, no audio at all
I'm going to try Openshot next, hopefully it will work.

Im reluctant to fork out money just to record and edit some dash cam footage.
But it seems the only way is to shell out $40.00, which is the going rate for any video editing software that works.

Damn frustrating.

Supposedly there is no expiration date on the free version of davinci. I use the free version for a while and so far haven't stopped working for me. I was on the 15 and downloaded the 16 recently and works just fine with the 4k files.

OK
I have now got Open Shot working for my Kenwood dash cam
but it wont work for my wife's Blueseasky dash cam

But windows photos works for her Blueseasky and don't work for my Kenwood.

They are both MP4 video files, so who knows.

At least I can now cut and edit videos, just not with the same software.
