Nigel you are right it's a Huawei Ascend Mate7 cam.

I've got a Mate 7 as well and it takes the best close up pics of any camera phone I've had

yeah my newer phone has laser focus as well, still can't do macro shots as well as the Huawei though

So it looks like the CPL made by Meg will be once again (mini 0903) not compatible (the lens protrudes too much) Is that the case @Rayman.Chan ?

They do have a CPL filter option for this model, not sure if it can use any of the previous version filters though

My 0806 CPL fits over the lens no problem, but it cuts the corners off the image, however it is a prototype CPL, I imagine the real one is OK...

Focus at the edges is not so good now it is behind the glass, but I think that is the glass causing the issue due to the wide angle.
Focus in the centre is good and didn't seem to be affected by temperature, although our weather is not particularly hot at the moment.
Lens reflections looking into the sun are quite strong but not too bad since they move out of the image unless you are looking nearly directly into the sun.

we added a rubber gasket for the new CPL, which raise the CPL a little; and increase the resistance between camerea and CPL so the CPL can be hold there more sturdy without vibration
