Nextbase 322GW

This is a Nextbase 322GW... Im am sick of it, this being the final straw with what i feel is junk.

I bought this brand new about Jan/feb from Halfords along with the recomended SD card - straight away within about a week ,i started having issues.
- it would fill up the SD card of 'emergancy files' of random snippets of footage and then the device would freeze up and get very hot. I contacted tech support who suggested a setting. I did a suggested, but still it would record random emergency file, just not as many.
- device would keep freezing up and getting hot. reseting it seemed to work. but then would freeze up days later . Eventuatly it would freeze up as soon as it was turned on.
- bought another sd card, device would appear to work well for about a week and then repeat the above issue. SD card could be formatted and used on othe devices but would the device would still freeze up on it. So bought another and that pretty much did the same thing. As a last efforti was going to buy another sd card but from next base- but now this has happened...

The Nextbase 2 series have been problematic from day 1

Everyone has their favourite but I'd be looking at Viofo

I wanted to add more to my post, but it accidently posted and i cant edit it.

Now the issue is, that something has swollen so much inside the device that it has 'blown' the screen off. I Have taken the camera out of my van and will be looking to buy another brand that isnt seemgingly unstable, defective, unreliable from brand new

As for film quality, the video footage is rubbish at picking up eg plates- it cant even read the reg plate of the vehicle stopped infront my my van about 1/2 car length ahead of me

thanks for the tip, ill look into those. as it was bought for insurance purposes, but has just been trouble and only giving the pretence of ' you could be being recorded'

They aren't available any more by my Viofo A119V3 is still going strong 6 years on and the video is pin sharp

I think the latest single channel is the MINI 2 but others will chip in, hopefully

After so long you wouldn't think they would still be available. I just checked and they are still available, which is a testament to the quality of the unit.

A youtuber called project farm did a test of various low price dashcams and the A119V3 came out on top!

I have seen others mention the Nextbase coming away from the screen, which is disappointing.

If you do go down the A119 route then keep your Nextbase hardwire kit, if you have one, as it works perfectly with the V3

You will need the filter and I recommend a 128Gb SDCard as 32Gb doesn't hold that much

Search here for the best SDCards as some can be problematic

Yup , Nextbase was recommended to me and online reviews i saw claimed it to be good. But my expierence is anything but. I dont know what inside that has swollen up enough to pop the screen off- but currently it sits gathering dust on a shelf. I need to look to see if there is any warranty on it. I wouldnt normally be this person, but the 'made in China' on it might explain a lot lol

Yeh i did read a Nextbase comment to a post on here- but you maybe right that theyre getting alot of complaints about their products having issues.
I once worked for a shop and we ordered in a batch of products because they looked really good, pricing was great, quality and materials used... in short the first batch sold like hot cakes. But then the Chinese manufacturer send the second batch out and we started having complaints, returns, refunds - as the product was failing, dropping to bits. I was told it is a trick that some Chinese manufacturers do- send out a 1st batch of high quality, but when you put a serious order in, that's when they do sloppy work, cut corners etc. Everyone who bought the 2nd batch was refunded

Update. Even though the warranty period had expired, Nextbase, paid the post for it to be sent to them. Its come back, ill be honest, im not sure if its the same one repaired with a Nexbase SD card in it, or a replacement. But i appreciate them looking at it, outside f warranty- as its been a disappointment since i bought it. I hope now it will give me the reliability and expierence that i imagine Nextbase would like its users to expierence 🙂
