Hi,
I only just bought this dash cam and the official 128GB SD Card. Only yesterday it started beeping and a message popped pop saying error please format sd card.
I tried formatting it and it still happens, i have had to hit the reset button as well as the screen freezes. But i don't know how to fix this.
Not long after i got this i also had to deactivate image stabilisation as the unit kept freezing after a few seconds every time i started the car.
I cant believe that i spent over £300 a few weeks ago for something that doest work properly. Any advice?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your 622GW.

1. Can I confirm exactly which card you have please? Brand, model and class.
2. When and where was the card purchased please and how often do you format?
3. Could you also perform a computer format on the card please:

a) Plug the SD card into the SD card port, or plug the provided USB cable into the port on the top of the camera (select UPDATE on the cam's screen).
b) When the drive appears, right click on the drive.
c) Select 'Format' (Windows) or 'Erase' (Mac)
d) Do not click the 'Quick Format box'. Please ensure it's formatted as exFAt or FAT32.
e) Follow the instructions.

4. Does the camera freeze if the Rear Camera is disconnected please?

5. What firmware is the camera on please?
1) Turn the Dash Cam on
2) Ensure it is not recording (by pressing the red circle if required)
3) Go into Settings (the button in the top left)
4) Go into Setup settings
5) Scroll across to ‘System Info’
6) Look at the Firmware number RXX.XX.

Millie

1: Its the official Nextbase 128GB Card From Halfords
2: Halfords Conswater Belfast 20-5-2, I format approx every 2 to 3 weeks
3: Done (Working better since that)
4: Haven't seen any freezing since i switched off Image Stabilisation feature.
5: R06.4

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for answering all my questions.

It sounds like the SD card itself is struggling, so I'd recommend formatting more regularly. You won't damage the card by formatting more regularly and it will allow the SD card to continue with prolonged use. If you can, formatting every week should resolve the issue.

If not, please direct message me a copy of your SD card receipt.

Kind regards,
Millie

This is still happening. Still get the beep beep and card error.

Sound like that memory card need to get replaced.

Hello,

Ensure the Rear Window Camera cable is fully inserted where the cables join- it should click when it's fully connected together. There's a connector about 30 cm from the rear camera, this connector can be a little deceiving and needs to be really tight.

If the issue still occurs, please direct message me a copy of your SD card receipt.

Kind regards,
Millie

The rear camera is connected fine. I have took the memory card to my local Halfords and they have gave me a new replacement one. I will keep you updated here in this post.
Thanks
