NextBase Hardwire set up

G’day all,

I recently had Halfords hard wire (nextbase hard wire kit) my dashcam into my vehicle.

I however note that I must clip the dashcam (Nextbase 412gw) on to the power mount before starting the ignition, If I clip it after the vehicle has been started it does not power up, I have to turn of the ignition and start the vehicle for the dashcam to power up.

Sorry for the ignorance but is this normal? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say It's completely normal. It could be car-related if it doesn't happen in different cars, but it'd make sense anyway to get in the car, mount the dashcam and then switch on the car.

I was just asking as rather ignorantly I have started the car first (on cold mornings) and mounted the dash cam thereafter. Only then after driving realising the dash cam was off! Hi
