No maps / error displayed in GVPlayer

I recently purchased a Mini 0805P Dashcam, I downloaded the software from the link given on the SD card, but have found that there is a Google API error displayed where the map should be. all of the other aspects of the software seem to work fine. I have tried the software on 2 laptops, one running Windows 8.1, the other running Windows Vista, same problem on both.

If i select the China map, it displays correctly, but I'm in the U.K. so not a lot of use to me.

Does anyone know of a solution to this?

solution would be them updating the API, Google API's expire periodically and require ongoing maintenance of programs to continue using their services, up to the software vendor to sort that out
