what program are you using for playback?

The microphone on the GC are good, so i think you may have the sound on the computer a bit low.
Often you will find a little speaker in the lower right side of the screen, if you click on that a little box with a slider will pop up and adjusting the slider you can turn up the volume.
if you are on a stationary PC and have a set of PC speakers one of those might also have a volume button.
On a laptop i am not so sure never really used one of those, but that little speaker icon in the lower right side of the screen should also be there.
Also the program you use to play the files might have a little slider to turn up the volume.
