Occasionally my 512gw with rear dash cam set up doesn’t record.

I reformat the card on regular basis but every so often it doesn’t record a trip. I reformatted the card last night had a trip to the local shop first thing this morning and should have caught a shoplifter on it as she ran out of the supermarket. When I got home and checked the footage there where no files recorded, I had checked the camera was working correctly when I first turned it on when I started the car, the red dot was flashing and the counter was counting up.

Connecting it to my computer and set it to record it worked fine, put it back in the car and again it worked correctly. This is not the first time this has happened, it will just be my luck it stops recording when something bad happens.

Anyone having similar problems?

What brand and size SD card do you have? Are you able to provide a photo of both sides?

What version of firmware is on the Dash Cam?

In order to check what version of firmware you're using;
please stop the camera recording then press menu twice,
scroll down to "system info" or "version" then press OK,
a black screen should pop up with a long text with R.. at the end.
Please tell me what numbers are after the R.

Tiffany, just a suggestion but I experienced a similar problem to the above, it turned out the cam had recorded but for some reason the start of the trip recorded with the default initial time and date. During the journey it acquired GPS time and date and new clips started from that point.

Firmware is R21.6 see attach file for SD card. Photo of both sides? Not sure what you mean by this.
