Hello everyone, this is my first post here although I've been lurking for a while.

I bought a Mini 0906 a few weeks ago and fitted it to my car without any dramas. At the time of fitting I did not have a memory card and noted that the camera turned itself off after a minute or so. I bought a 128mb Samsung Evo micro SD card from Ebay and fitted that. On turning on the car the camera came on and requested that I format the card which I did. This created folders on the card for front, rear, GPS etc.

On my first and subsequent trips For some reason the camera(s) appears to work as expected BUT when I remove the SD card to read on my laptop, the folders show 'This folder is empty'. I was suspicious that there may be a problem with the SD card so in order to check, I bought a second SD card from another source. This is a 128mb SanDisk Ultra but I'm getting the same results.nothing in the folders.

I've enclosed photographs of the cameras screen showing front and rear, the only icon I cannot understand is the clock symbol, is this my problem?

Any ideas before I have to rip the whole lot out of the car for a refund?

Yep look like a fake, a 6 Gb card made to look like a 64 Gb card, it happen a lot with Samsung,,,,,,, too

Always buy memory cards from a seller you can trust / reach out and touch ( so to say )

Local stores and sold by and fulfilled by amazon have worked well for me, never seen a single fake card, and cards dying anyway have been swiftly replaced by the seller.

.

it probably was a 64gb chip initially, when low grade memory is made it depends how many bad sectors there are as to how much usable memory there will be, or it can be recycled memory, it's more lucrative for these types of manufacturers to sell fake size than it is to sell the card as a workable smaller capacity card so it ends up with a fake boot sector and getting sold online, as the majority of cards get used in mobile phones the problem is often not picked up for a very long time, if at all, by the time it does it's either too late or people just think the card has failed, usually with their holiday/baby photos etc and the brand that was being faked gets bad mouthed, it's a lose/lose situation all round unfortunately

Thanks for the help everyone. The Samsung card is on its way back to the seller for a refund.

I have done a test on the second SanDisk card, and it comes up with the following results:

Error reading file 'E:\50.h2w', offset 0x2fc00000.

Can you confirm that this card is also faulty?

Thanks in advance

Thanks, I'll get on to this seller as well.

report to eBay if that's where you bought it from, sellers like that need to be brought to their attention, you will get refunded

Thanks, The first card is winging its way back to the vendor for a refund and the second refunded me with no further correspondence.

I've just ordered a card from Amazon themselves, I'll keep you posted with progress. Thanks again.

Thankyou everyone, my card arrived from Amazon this morning and all is well, I've just got to learn howto use the viewing/editing software.

For anyone interested this is the GENUINE card I bought from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/B073JYC4XM
