not turning on in the morning

Guess I'm with those who check their cam before driving. Not to do a quick check seems a bit careless regardless of how long a cam has been reliable. As others have stated, price paid and reliability have little in common.

Anything more complex than a toothpick can fail without warning and I've had a few of those break unexpectedly. If you're counting on something, then you will check it at the start then monitor it's status occasionally as you go along.
