Howdy! Does anyone living in CA have any pics of the notice they have to put on their vehicles (according to CVC 26708, 13(B))? I'm wondering what sizes you have and where you have them placed.
Thanks!

I put mine behind the rearview mirror.

You mean this law is in CA ?
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc26708.htm

(B) A vehicle equipped with a video event recorder shall have a notice posted in a visible location which states that a passenger’s conversation may be recorded.

Got it. I was thinking either there, the bottom corners of the windshield, or in the back window.

Yep, niko, that is the law. It just says "visible location", so I wanted to get some thoughts on how big and where others were putting theirs.

i had my friend make a sticker in square size for like 5 bucks and posted in the right side quarter window where its not obstructing my view

I have also seen those labels here only on Taxi, or some public transport. There is no regulation on font size here. Just need to be visible to the passengers, but not sure about CA laws, at least I did not read from that law anything regarding font size , striker size or place where it exactly should be placed.

This seems overkill...

it is overkill,

however imagine you recording the police officer and he violates your right, when you go to court the video can not be shown and gets thrown out as evidence simply because you don't have a sticker displayed.

YouTube it and it goes viral then it's a matter of court of public opinion. We've seen that happen so many times. Also, supreme court ruled that recording police officers in the line of duty is constitutionally legal.

This law seems more to apply to the public riding your car.. so if you are an uber driver, then maybe...

The Vehicle Code refers to a notice that "a passenger’s conversation may be recorded". It seems clear that the notice needs to be visible to a passenger, not to someone outside the vehicle or not setting in a passenger seat.

This apply to taxi driver and other public transport services, but for standard driver one sticker facing outside will be enough, unless you pick up a hitch-hiker or any other person who is not aware that you have dash cam with audio recording, - in this case you have to warn him / here that your dash camera is recording an audio conversations.

Can some one post photo of that sticker?

for public transport they have stickers something like this:

https://www.google.ie/search?q=taxi+vid ... 1&tbm=isch

or you can cut camera logo and word smile from this sticker:

or use top hald of this sticker:
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/CCTV-Operation-A ... 51a59cfa35

Interesting never seen anything like that. Not in California or New York.

thank you .

Here in Ireland I have seen those type of signs on Taxies which fitted with CCTV, or lets say dash cams which filming interior.

Niko, I've never seen anything like that, but that should do the trick. Thanks for the pics.
Tbkonwso1, that's a great idea on the placement. Quarter window out of the way is perfect. Thanks!
