Older K2000 can't get the camera past "mass storage" "Pc"

Found this old camera in my garage. Tried to get it running again.

Battery will not take a charge. When I plug in the camera via usb, the camera say Greetings, then the camera turns on for 2 seconds then goes to a screen that has an icon of a wrench and gives me the choice of either "mass storage" or "Pc connection"

The menu, lock, arrow buttons don't work. The on line menus are of no help.

I held the reset hole button for 10 to 20 seconds, with no effect.

After multiple attempts to turn on and off, while holding down various buttons the language turned from English to Russian, but I am in the same loop.

Is the camera a total loss? Or are their some button sequences that will allow me to reset

power it from a USB charger, phone charger or similar rather than your PC if you want to be able to access the menus

I should of been more clear. The USB cord into the camera is connected to a USB power plug, not a PC

Could this issue be low or high voltage?

I have tried three different cables. same results with all.
