Hi,

I've never been in need of parking mode but recently my vehicle has had the front end reversed into 3 times in 3 weeks, with 1 occasion costing me over £200 in damage having the front grill replaced. I'm beginning to think this is deliberate from a disgruntled local who doesn't like cars outside their house.

So I need to get parking protection.

Trouble is, I don't want to hardwire anything as I'm thinking of changing vehicles.

I also have a vehicle with a small capacity battery - 09 Honda Civic, and they have a reputation for going flat at the slightest possible power drain.

So I need some suggestions for a PSU unit or UPS that doesn't cost a fortune and I can fit temporarily to my vehicle without hard wiring. A normally hardwired unit doesn't matter if I can eg. fit it to a permanent live via an accessory socket or fuse connector. It also needs to be ok in heat as currently it's around 90 Fahrenheit outside here and more in a vehicle.

Any suggestions? It's to power an A119 Pro (essential) plus a WR1 (optional).

If it is temporary then a 20000mAh powerbank will power an A119 in normal (not parking) mode for around 35 hours, you might even manage A119 plus WR1 for 22 hours.
You need to keep it near the floor in this heat so it doesn't get too hot (max 65C), and don't charge it in the car(max 45C).

If you get a quick charge / PD one then you might add the Meg Power Charging Kit later: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/power-charging-kit-with-parking-guard-signal.34820

Yeah i think MEG are working on V2.0 of the charging kit / controller, so it will be able to seriously take advantage of the quick charge / PD type power banks.

Yes, those Poweradd banks are fairly decent.

Only consideration is that it is not a quick charge/PD powerbank and will take 10 hours to fully charge, the PD ones do cost more, as do the chargers so if you are happy with the normal charge rate and don't have future plans that might want a faster rate then it is not an issue.

Many thanks to everyone who replied and especially the member who helped me extensively via pm.

For the curious and to help others, this is what I settled on as I only need around 10 hours battery coverage per day:

I opted for power banks that were PD compatible for quick charging and a charger that could charge both PD and Qualcomm Fast Charging at the same time, so I could fast charge both banks simultaneously. I'm going to use one for the front and the second for the back. At the price they were, it would be rude not to!
