Parking Mode

Just had my S1 Pro Max fitted and hardwired to fuse box, but i cannot seem to get into the menu to set the parked mode.
I press the menu button but nothing appears to happen
What am I doing wrong?
Any help please?

First, please press the OK button to stop the recording. The camera won’t enter the menu while it’s recording.
Once recording is paused, press the Menu button to enter the settings. Then go to Record Setup and you will find the Parking Mode option there to adjust the settings.

How long can you expect the dash cam in parked mode to last before it starts to drain the car battery?
I have to go on a trip and the car will be parked at the airport for a week, should I discount the dash cam or just remove it from my car from its windscreen mount?

Depending on the capacity and age of your car battery and the cut-off voltage you set on the hardwire kit, you may get anything from a few hours up to a day or so if you set the dashcam to a parking mode where it remains always-on (low bitrate, motion detection, or quick-start collision detection).

For a week I would suggest using the power saving collision detection mode. The startup time after an impact is detected is rather slow, I recall it is at least 10 seconds before it starts recording, but you might catch something if the other vehicle is still close to yours.

Here are some power consumption figures from the S1 Pro Max. It's impossible to make instantaneous voltage measurements because things are always in flux. These are averages of a minimum of 30 seconds. I'm not claiming absolute accuracy, but these figures should be pretty close to reality. One interesting discrepancy is that the user's manual indicates the S1 Pro Max power consumption is 6w, but my data shows 4.9w for the front camera with GPS, and 8.7w for both cameras.
