Which power port to I plug my cable into?

I have a 0805 with GPS. Should I plug into the gps area or into the main cam area?

No, sadly it doesn't work either way.
At least mine 0805 requires power cord to be plugged into the bracket/base in order for GPS to work.
That's also stated clearly in the Manual I've received with the device.

It works either way, if it doesn't work for you then you have a hardware fault

The camera works either way, however if you are outside, it will only log (record) the location (gps coodinates) and speed if it plugged into the base which is the gps receiver. Using Register Viewer look at the two files - one recorded with the power plugged into the cam and one with the power plugged into the gps base. Note you will very likely only get a gps signal if you are outside.
