Hi,

I am looking for polarizing lens for my F900LHD because I have reflection of the dashboard in my windshield and it interferes with video.
Can anyone suggest where and what filter to buy?
The diameter of the black piece that holds lens is 3/4 of an inch or 19 mm.

Thanks.

Because these polarization materials all make image darker you should first make testing with cheapest one and try to decide is it worth it, and what it does at night.
One way to start is buy disposable cardboard 3D movie glasses and rip polarized plastic film there. Then take some old lens cap or similar and glue polarized plastic on it, then put it on camera lens and rotate to suitable angle if needed. This plastic material is maybe not very good optic quality but i think this is best place to start because cost is 1 or 2 $, and later all you have to do is replace polarized film to better quality one if necessary. It would be nice to use plastic film because you can cut it with scissors, glass is more difficult to cut and much more expensive.
You can use circular polarizer filter or linear polarizer filter, basically result is the same.

Hi MozartMan,

The F900LHD doesn't come with an optional polarizing lens like the FineVu cameras so you will have to improvise. I agree with Sabe that you should consider cheap options to see if it is right for you. The polarizing lens will reduce glare but it makes the video very poor at night. Also sharpness may decrease as well. The performance of a polarizing lens is best when driving directly facing the sun. At other angles, the benefits are reduced.

Here is a video of the F900LHD with no polarizing filter.

The same camera with a polarizing filter.

A more expensive solution using an old pill bottle and a Marumi V-30 CPL.

Top of the line Russian solution with a movable Marumi polarizing lens.

Thanks for great ideas guys.

I have two pairs of disposable 3D glasses from the movie theater. I will improvise and report results back.
