They don't always drive with their radar on, but this time they did.

Apart from what looks like to be a Valentine 1 going off (could've been a false alert). I don't see the excitement in this footage.

Is it legal & where can I get one.
You can purchase a Radar detector like the Escort Redline (I currently own it). It has a special coating on the unit much a like a stealth fighter plane to evade detection from radar detectors the police use to see if you are attempting to avoid being caught. However, that doesn't stop you from having the unit itself visible on your windshield. Keep in mind having these units only allow you to detect a radar gun if it is in use as Laser guns (instant on) won't matter unless you have a laser jammer and those enter another set of legality

Police laser sample.

Did this for a different radar forum.

In your first video, he was not driving with his radar on, you got hit by an instant on blast... By the time your radar detector beeped, he already had your speed unfortunately... Only thing playing in your favor is the other traffic, so he probably couldnt pinpoint who's speed it was.

Can't we use it other then Belgium and how it is used can anyone tell me.

Belgium
Illegal

In July 2006, a provisional seizure of a vehicle worth over €75,000 and destruction of the radar detector was ordered by the courts. The driver's licence was suspended for three months.[8]

Maybe Waze for the smart phone is the best you can do. If everyone marks the location of police when they see them, it would better than nothing.

I know that they're legal in california but in germany they are not. The law here is when you have a radar detector in your car then the cops will confiscate it and you will never get it back when they take notice of it.
Even if you have a GPS unit which shows you where the stationary speed traps they confiscate your navigation unit or your smartphone when you use it as radar warner.

Otherwise they are way too expensive because in germany we have to much different speed measurment systems and it won't detect police cars because they don't have a radar pistol on they seat (like in USA). In 10 years of car driving and a lot of kilometers I saw maybe two or three times a cop with a radar gun so it's waste anyway.

But nice video though

Best solution not to he caught by police radar is not to speed. It has been proven that when speeding you will not win a lot of time. Those few minutes you "win" when speeding are not worth of all risks you involving in yourself and other drivers / people.

That's true but there are so many speed limits which are not necessary and if you drive like the actual speed limit is then you will get terrorized from the cars driving behind you :-D

but sticking to the silly 70mph limit on an empty motorway or dual carriage way on a clear day is ... :( And at 105mph the car is unbelievably smooth and almost silent ... it needs that sometimes and so do I ;)

Yes we also have some silly 120 kph speed limit on empty autobahns :-D

But in germany it's ok when you get caught speeding with 20 or even 30 kph over the actual speed limit that's affordable.
But you even can go faster because there is something like a tolerance value that they have to subtract from the measured speed.
