Possible to extract firmware from an 0801?

I've just received a new 0801 from e-prance. It has firmware version 20140428. I'd like to try a modified firmware with the startup, shutdown and keypress sounds disabled but I want to be able to re-install the firmware it shipped with if that goes pear-shaped. The trouble is, I can't find the 20140428 version of the firmware anywhere online. Is it possible to extract the firmware from a working 0801 somehow?

Yes and no.
If it's a non-GPS Firmware then you can do it otherwise you can't..
You could ask your reseller to send you the Firmware.

OK, thanks for that. It's GPS firmware. I've e-mailed e-prance to ask if they can let me have a copy of the firmware.
