Power consumption in parking motion detection mode depending on the firmware?

Hi

I just bought a Vantrue S1 Pro Max 4+2.5K.
The original firmware is VT-EEE243, and the app suggests upgrading to VT-EEK241.
Does this upgrade affect power consumption in parking mode with motion detection?

In this parking mode, I only use the front camera, and minimizing power consumption is very important to me. I use an external power bank, and every mAh gained or lost counts.

Since the video bitrate has been increased with this firmware, power consumption has logically also increased, but does this also affect power consumption in parking mode with motion detection during standby?

Thanks for your question.
In parking mode with motion detection, the difference in power consumption is negligible and can essentially be ignored, especially when only the front camera is enabled.

I performed the update and indeed the power consumption remained the same. 🙂

However, I have a problem (which I also had before the update).
Even when set to Parking/Motion Detection mode for the front camera only, the rear camera continues to draw power when it's connected.

I then measure a consumption of approximately 4.7W compared to 3.3W when the rear camera is physically disconnected.

This will force me to connect/unconnect it every time I use the car, which risks damaging the USB connector over time.

Do you think there might be a fix for this problem in a future update? Or will it always remain this way if it's not possible to fix it from a hardware perspective?

Thanks for your feedback! In Parking mode, the rear cam can’t fully power off and it keeps a small amount of power so it’s ready to go. If it were completely off, there’d be a delay when switching back to normal recording, and the time sync between two cameras could be affected. The rear cam has its own CPU, so it can’t enter sleep mode for now.
