The most important piece of information is missing: What is new in Panorama S in comparison to Panorama II?

1. Lens surrounding is added to fit CPL-filter from Finevu CR-500HD
2. Blue LED at front which was made for Korean market needs, but new firmware will be released to switch off that blue LED for "other" markets who don't like it
3. Actually 1.12.02 was originally made for Panorama-S ;)

Other than that they are identical products.

Does this mean the panarama 2 will work with future panarama s firmware?

Yes, as you may see from v1.12.02 - it has start-up logo / graphics says "Panorama-S", and it works on Panorama II ;)

Thanks for the great details. Looks like a good improvement to the image quality.

Just a thought. The mount looks like it could be shortened by about 1/2 of the original length as long as the lens still clears the windshield glass.
The side view looks like you did not need that much length to get the angle being used.
Drill a new hole across the mount sides and move the pivot screw up to the new hole to verify the fit. Trim off the excess mount where the original screw was located.
Now that the mount is attached, it may not be worth the bother, but in case you needed to make a change in the future.

I already did it half year ago. Look HERE ;)

For most users it's good to have as small bracket as possible ( like I did or like you now also suggesting ), but let's not "discriminate" bus / truck- or any other drivers which vehicles have close to 90 degree windshield.
To mount to close to 90 degree ( vertical ) windshield, - you need certain length of bracket, so lens will not touch glass. Hope you know what I am trying to say.
Of course the best for manufacturer is to develop small bracket like I did in my DIY, because I am sure majority of buyers use Panorama 2 on 30-45 angle windshield. And manufacturer can offer longer arm bracket as an optional accessory for those who want to mount it on vertical windshield.

Any idea how much this is worth?

I just purchase a PanoramaII last night :'(
I can not speculate about the price at the moment.
We have to wait and see when it will be available for international market.
It's only available for Korean market at this moment.
