Problem with A329S in FL heat

My A329S keeps giving me an error message about needing to format the SD card. This occurs when the car is parked in hot sun for a while (I'm in central FL). The card is formatted - and even if I select "format card" in the app, it just fails. The body of the camera gets very hot (hard to hold). Once it cools off it works fine again. It does not fail every time - but it has now done this 3x. Is there a known problem with this camera operating in hot environments?
The SD card is a Scandisk Ultra 128GB.
The camera is about 3 months old on firmware VIOFO_A329S_V2.0_260104.

Is there some type of heat shield I could put around the camera? Has anyone done this?

PS. I saw a similar post by NoelC from 6/29/26. Is there a firmware update I should do?

I ordered a new SD card from VIOFO.

The camera is about 3 months old on firmware VIOFO_A329S_V2.0_260104.

If you would like to update to the latest firmware it’s HERE
Or you can also update OTA, but you need to have the latest version of the smartphone APP.
To make sure you have the latest smartphone APP it’s easier, and faster to delete it, and re-install it.

NOTE:
The firmware update will reset all menu settings to default.
You may want to “back up” A329S settings with;

EXPORT SETTINGS: OFF / ON
When enabled, removing the SD card automatically generates a configuration file (viofo_config) in the root directory of the card.
This file can be opened with the configuration tool to view all current dash cam settings, including menu options and selected parameters.

Reading the “raw configuration file” can be a little confusing.
Thanks to Julian23 he made a custom “configuration file viewer” that converts the raw data to a menu similar to VIOFO’s APP, and it’s much easier to read.
Julian23’s custom file viewer is attached below.
