Hi everyone! I’m having a strange issue with my 70mai Dash Cam A810 and I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.

Until recently everything worked perfectly. I would enable the camera hotspot, connect my phone to the camera’s Wi-Fi, open the app and access the live view and all recordings from the SD card.

Yesterday the car was parked and the camera was recording in time-lapse / parking mode. When I came back and started driving, there was a small incident and I needed the footage from that moment.

That’s when I realized the camera was actually powered off. I had to power it on manually, and since then I can’t connect to it properly anymore.

Current behavior: • My phone connects to the camera’s Wi-Fi hotspot
• In the app it shows “Tap to reconnect” and it never connects
• I can’t access the Album or view the recordings on the SD card

Interestingly, if I disable the hotspot and connect through the 4G module, I can access the Settings, view live feed, battery status and location but I still cannot view the recordings.

I also updated the camera to the latest firmware, reinstalled app on phone (S25ultra) and did a factory reset to the camera but the behavior is exactly the same.

Has anyone experienced something like this or knows what might cause it?

Screenshot attached.

Thanks!

From your picture it looks like you are using VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi)
Try disconnection VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) and try again.

Edit: Not being able to read the sdcard is a problem and I would be removing it and checking it is ok on a computer. On a computer you should be able to read the sdcard. Try a different sdcard.
The reason your car was not recording when you returned to it may be a separate problem. eg battery voltage low.

Hi, thanks for your input, it helped me investigate the issue further.
In my case, it wasn’t VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi), but actually the hotspot on my phone causing the problem. What’s strange is that I’ve been using hotspot permanently for years without any issues.
I’ve had multiple 70mai models (A500, A800S, and now A810), and they always connected to the camera without any problem, even with the hotspot turned on.
Now, on my Samsung S26 Ultra, I can’t connect to the camera while the hotspot is active. If I turn off the hotspot and connect directly to the camera’s Wi-Fi, everything works perfectly.
I suspect this behavior might be related to a recent Samsung update, and it just happened to coincide with the moment when the camera shut down, which initially made me think it was a different issue.
Regarding the camera stopping, I don’t think it was caused by low battery. The car is equipped with an additional 96Ah LiFePO4 battery (with BMS, heater, full protection) installed in parallel with the start-stop battery, specifically to support the dashcam. Most likely, the shutdown was due to temperature, as the car was parked in direct sunlight, even though this hadn’t caused issues before.
Thanks again for your suggestions!
