It's doing it's job and doing it well but because I am 'self isolating' the car is sat on the driveway most days, I'm doing less that 5 miles a week and getting a 'low battery' message. I went into the software to disable the parking mode and it looks like it has disabled itself, or has it . . . each time I get In 'the voice' tells me that there has been x x x clips taken in parking mode.

Question: How do I get it to do nothing unless the car engine is running?

Can't you just unplug it? Isn't there a connector at the camera?

^ Best method, really, or set up a timer cutoff in the settings.

Check to see if your power turns on and off with the car. My car's cigarette lighter socket is always live. To plug and forget a dash cam in there would mean a constant battery drain. Other cars turn the sockets power on and off with the car engine. You may want to tap into a switched circuit for power.
