Questions about 'parking' mode

Can someone explain to me the point of parking mode vs. just leaving the dash came record regularly 24/7? When I have mine in parking mode it gives me the option of less FPS than the normal 60fps. But that's it. What does having a lower FPS do? Obviously saves disk space. Does it also save battery juice?
In parking mode does the camera also shut off when no motion is detected or is it always on/recording regardless of motion?

There are 3 kinds of parking mode in A129, "Auto event detection" "Time lapes" and "low bitrate", only in auto event detection the camera will shut off when no motion detected.

Parking modes generate less processor heat, less card heat, and use less power. How much difference there is varies between the different types and different cams. Not many cams will survive very long when recording continuously during summers in the hotter places around the world.

Sandiskman are you viewing settings via the on screen or the wifi app on your mobile as these can be different, are you using the latest v1.5 firmware ?
