I drive for Uber and need the clips pulled from the dashcam often. I have been removing the SD card to get the clips I wanted and thought christ there must be a better way to save these to my desktop PC, this is kinda bull**** that we can't download the files with the BlackVue Viewer software if the dashcam and the viewer are on the same local network. Only thing they offer is over the cloud which goes from my car into my local network then to their servers then back to my local network then to my desktop PC. Kinda stupid but sure ok fine, so I was using that method then realized they have a limit when I went over, and its quite low and now need to wait for it to reset so this method doesn't work either. Using my cell phone as the middle man is just silly unless your out some where and want to make a backup copy of a clip quickly sure.

I contacted BlackVue support and got a canned response. bah bah bah bah. No help or future hope for adding this future, is basically what I got out of it.

So I searched and search around the net and I found that I can manually use firefox to download but it's cumbersome as hell; https://gadgetblogist.wordpress.com/2014/10/16/dashcam-hacking/
Here's another Viewer type of app once you have the clips on your PC -> http://www.registratorviewer.com/index_en.html

Just login to your routers web-page and find the dashcams IP address eg. 192.168.XXX.XXX, then;

If I type in;
http://192.168.1.111/blackvue_vod.cgi

It gives me this long long list, as I have 128G mem card;
v:2.00
n:/Record/20170211_171151_PF.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_171151_PR.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_171350_PF.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_171350_PR.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_171511_PF.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_171511_PR.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_171607_PF.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_171607_PR.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_172212_PF.mp4,s:1000000
n:/Record/20170211_172212_PR.mp4,s:1000000

example, then I type in;
http://192.168.1.111/Record/20170211_171151_PF.mp4

and I can download it directly over WiFi from the dashcam to my PC. Great but Why the F@%! have they not offered this feature into the BlackVue Viewer is my question, just a bad move. I was going to by other one of these for my other car but if this is the case why pay premium price for this if it doesn't offer premium options.

Also found you can live stream over your home WiFi by going to -> http://192.168.1.111/blackvue_live.cgi

I'm on windows 7 and have found some third party software that tries to accomplish the above but it messy and doesn't work.

This one here doesn't even load on my window 7 only works on windows 10?!?!;
https://github.com/morrisonbrett/BlackVueDownloader

This one loads gets all the way to the end but no files are in the folder, I tried everything;
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ft29totkrccxhvf/Getvideo2.zip?dl=0

README Install Instructions::

#1 Create a c:\wget folder
#2 Copy files from the .zip to c:\wget (zip will also create a c:\wget\data folder, this is where all camera video files will be copied)
#3 Turn on dashcams WiFi and connect a PC/Laptop to it like you would any hotspot, or connect the dashcam to your home WiFi.
#4 Find the dashcams IP, If connect to your homes WiFi then it should be listed on your routers webpage.
#5 Edit the following 3 files with the IP address of your dashcam. Recommend notepad++ for editing.
create_wget.py
create_wget.exe
getvideo2.bat

#6 Run getvideo2.bat
it will ask do you want to "Delete Existing Data Y/(N)" in c:\wget\data
it will ask how many files you want to copy from the camera 1-1000 (for each video clip it copies 4 files, Front, Rear, GPS, and Accelerometer and newest to oldest.

#7 Create a desktop shortcut pointing to getvideo2.bat for simple one-click download.

I did everything in the instructions and it all goes correct but copy_files_from_camera.bat is left blank and that's where it stops

BLACKVUE MY QUESTION TO YOU IF YOU READ THESE FORUMS, WAKEUP AND OFFER FEATURES PEOPLE WANT.

I share your anger. When I purchased mine it was in large part due to the WiFi feature. I kinda thought that I could access the camera from my laptop.. view and or save as wished. NOT.. Blackvue wants the revenue stream from the "cloud" providing what customers want is not on their agenda.

I don't suppose there's any chance of going into explorer and accessing it via network?
E.g. my router has a USB port and I've plugged in a flash drive and can do this:
networkstorage.jpg

I use the Phone-app to get the videos that I need. A bit slow, but it is easier than taking the SD-card in and out all the time.

I'm working with Brett to try and get this app to work on windows 7
I am assuming you are trying to get Windows 7 to recognize the Blackvue and treat it like any other local network device. If you get something working.. please share. There have been many attempts to do this and none.. as far as I know.. work without jumping through many hoops and knowing a lot of archaic commands.

with Brett's .44 update, the BlackVueDownloader on windows 7 will now work.

https://github.com/morrisonbrett/BlackVueDownloader/releases

and here's the script i use

=============================================
cd C:/Program Files/BlackVueDownloader

BlackVueDownloader.exe 192.168.1.111 D:\Restricted\_ILXdashcam

Pause
