Recorder (DVR) Only Recommendations?

Hello, great forum!

I did a search and quick skim through of the posts but didn't see what I was looking for, or whether it even exists.

I don't want one of the buy a standard dash cam system since the camera are larger than what I'm willing to deal with. I have my own small camera with RCA output which can be mounted very discreetly.

The question is, what options exist for a recording device/DVR? I'm planning on mounting the DVR in the glovebox.

Most of the mobile DVRs have poor video quality. If you are OK with that you can probably look for a popular one on aliexpress or eBay. Perhaps something like this. Note that I don't have much experience with these devices.
