removing cigarette socket connectors

Hi all,
long time lurker and posting for first time. I'm interested in cleaning up the install on my 750s-2ch with the power magic pro.
I want to remove the cigarette lighter male and female ends of the cable between the two devices. Is this just as easy as strip and solder both ends
should I go to a different approach.

Yes, but don't forget a turn or two of insulating tape Offsetting the joins makes for a neater job. I insulated mine with heat shrink tubing

That would be a lot more difficult. About the only option would be to rewire the plug on the PMP.

Bear in mind that BV warn you not to do this, but there is no electrical reason why not (that's what I did).
