I run my 0806 in a diesel van. The camera had been getting gradually more and more crashy until I finally couldn't keep it working anymore. The symptoms fit a bad camera battery, so I disassembled the camera, dug thru my junk pile and found a not-great-condition but better LiPo cell, soldered it in and reassembled. The 0806 is completely cured. It really needs that little battery to carry it thru the van battery voltage sag when starting the van.
Even though I knew it was coming I still managed to lose the detent ball when I disassembled. Whatever... I reassembled without it and it still has enough friction to stay on target. Maybe I'll get a new ball bearing and put it in next time I have it apart for another new battery...
